What is Vyslovuj®
Vyslovuj® is a unique artificial intelligence for home pronunciation practice and overall development through an interactive game that helps children learn to speak correctly.
It also provides speech therapists with valuable information about their improvement.
Why Vyslovuj®?
Vyslovuj® focuses primarily on practicing the correct pronunciation of consonants in preschool children.
We have therefore transformed the tablet or mobile device hated by parents, on which they play games or watch mostly dubbed foreign animated cartoons (where the already simplified mouth movements do not correspond to the spoken words) and are required to engage one or two senses (sight and hearing), into a device that also requires speech.
Vyslovuj® is a friend with whom children can talk and face different games and challenges through Api the parrot, the most important of which is "repeat what you hear".
Children can do all this anytime and anywhere, in peace, not only during their visits to the speech therapist.
For a step-by-step demonstration of the game, see Api's Game Guides.
Vyslovuj® does not replace speech therapy
Vyslovuj® practicing. He doesn't teach. Vyslovuj® does not correct the child. The speech therapist will use the information from Vyslovuj® (when, where, how, etc.) to evaluate further progress.
Settings Vyslovuj®
Vowel learning has its own strict sequencing rules and is influenced by many other factors. The use of Vyslovuj® for speech therapy purposes is therefore subject to initial setup and subsequent supervision by a speech therapist. In the vocabulary expansion mode, Vyslovuj® can also be used directly by the parent without the supervision of a speech therapist.
- The therapist first creates an account for the user - the parent.
- The therapist then creates an exercise profile for the user - the child.
- The therapist selects the syllables (programs), the position of the syllables (courses) and the lessons themselves for this profile.
- The programs are unlocked when they are first selected and can therefore be used immediately by the client. The therapist can lock those that are not yet available.
- The driver completes the registration through the registration email and logs in.
- The driver selects a profile (if there are more than one).
- The driver sets the length of play. The length of play is only informative for the child in the form of a passing stopwatch.
- The driver starts the game.
- The child sees the following elements on the screen: a virtual speech therapist, himself, a game card represented by a word and a picture of the word, a success and reward indicator, and a stopwatch.
- The child clicks/presses the card. The virtual speech therapist begins to pronounce the trained word in a cyclical manner.
- After each pronunciation, the child has space to repeat the word.
- The game moves to the evaluation phase after the child's voice is recorded. The result is represented by eight different emoticons - from "I don't understand, try again" to "perfect". The last five are considered a successful outcome.
- The child is then given rewards. Vyslovuj® contains four types of rewards, each type further contains three levels:
- Involvement - the child completes the lessons regardless of the outcome.
- Assessment - the child had several successful outcomes regardless of the fact that there were several failures among them.
- Improvement - the child has corrected previous failed lessons.
- Honours - the child has had several successful outcomes in a row.
- If a lesson has been judged successful, the next lesson follows. If not, the child has the option of repeating the lesson or moving on to the next one.
- After the game time has elapsed, the child is prompted to view the exercise profile. They can also view the practice profile between lessons. In the game profile, he/she will find all previous results, rewards, and a list of the programs he/she is practicing or will practice, as well as instructional videos and practice sheets for those programs.
- Every Thursday, the parent receives a report card via email. The report card reflects the child's progress for the previous week. Within the in-game profile, the user has the ability to track and view the overall report card.
- In the in-game profile, the parent and child can watch a tutorial video on how to pronounce the practiced syllable.
- In addition, the parent has the option of using a practice sheet within the tutorial video, consisting of two stories and two illustrations for out-of-game practice. The speech therapist also has the exercise sheet in printed form and can give it to the parent when setting up or changing the play profile.
Lessons
In Vyslovuj®, there are over 2000 lessons available for clients to practice. The lessons serve as labels for the words. The therapist can individually make available to each client a specific set of words for a given syllable, or select individual words from the set to practice.
We are continuously expanding the number of lessons by an average of 20 lessons per week.
Adaptive guidance
Vyslovuj® automatically selects the most suitable next lesson by analyzing the results and many other information.
Adaptive evaluation
If the client pronounces the word correctly, the next word will have a higher difficulty and vice versa. Our aim is to motivate the client to continue practicing.
Educational videos
For each vowel there are videos for parents explaining what is needed for the correct production of the vowel, what are the common mistakes and what to look out for, the possibilities of oromotor exercises for the vowel, and some methods of producing the vowel.
Exercise sheets
There are practice sheets with pictures and short stories for each vowel. Clients can describe or search the picture according to the speech therapist's instructions. The pictures include a short story that older clients can read and younger clients can listen to. For each story there are written questions to practice auditory memory, plot sequence, etc. Exercise sheets are downloadable on the app and are also sent out in hard copy to speech therapists in the outpatient clinic.
Full control (administration, analysis, reports)
The therapist determines for each client individually which sets of words or which specific words to practice. The therapist is provided with an overview that shows how often and for how long the client has practiced, which lessons - word sets he/she is doing well or vice versa, and which words are showing a noticeable improvement or deterioration.
Testimonial
The report card serves as feedback to parents on whether they have had the opportunity to practise with their child and how the child is getting the correct pronunciation of words with the given syllables. The currently open and practiced sets of words are displayed.
Development of cognitive functions
The app, combined with the worksheets, helps to develop language skills, auditory perception, visual perception, memory and attention, pre-math ideas and expressive skills.
Motivation
Clients earn rewards and smileys for correctly repeated words or exercise frequency, which are displayed on the client's account in the app. The pictures vary in size, the larger they are, the more the client has earned.
Stickers
There are various practice challenges for clients, for which they can get a sticker both in the app in the stickers tab and then in the speech therapist's office, which has them available in printed form. This is to try to motivate the client to look forward to their next visit. Example of a challenge: Practice for 5 days in a row for 5 minutes.

Provider
Vyslovuj® created and operated by Czech technology company I am Ema focusing on the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning in education, healthcare and other socially beneficial fields.
The purpose of I am Ema is to provide customers with information to help them make better decisions. The company's main product is EMA - Enterprise Meeting Assistant - an unbiased assistant that records everything you see and hear in your meetings, including voice and facial emotions.
Vyslovuj® takes all the features of EMA and transforms them into an online game that helps children learn to talk.
